WordPress Tip: How To Randomly Redirect To Random Posts On Your Blog

Here’s a quick and fun WordPress tip for bloggers who own a WordPress blog. If you ever wanted to randomly go through your blog posts in a StumbleUpon-like fashion, then check out the Random Redirect plugin. It allows you create a link to yourblog.com/?random which will then randomly redirect to a random post on your blog.

To see it in action, click the link below.

That’s pretty cool - it’s kind of like what Yaro uses at the top of his blog I think, except he has certain posts in rotation

    Hi Sly,

That's a cool plugin to play with but I think installing a related post plugin would be more useful isn't it? It have a stronger call to action rather than displaying random post in my opinion. Let me know if you beg to differ.

    No problem Ben. :)

That sucks big time! Make sure you change the passwords of your other online accounts so they don't get hacked in as well. Once a hacker gets a hold of one of you accounts for anything, it's easy to get the other ones.

Sounds like a good idea! I'll think about it. I was thinking of a place to put it somewhere, and the menu might be a good spot. :)

Actually, Random Redirect doesn't show random posts… it leads to a random post when the link is clicked. The related post kind of plugin you're talking about is a totally different type of plugin (which I also use).

Well, for a blog that already has a lot of posts, it might be fun to use. But I checked out your blog and see that it's pretty new… that's probably why it's useless to you. :)

This plugin is totally different from the related posts plugin. This is a random redirect, which means that when you click the specified link, it will redirect the user to a random post from the blog.

maybe it's kind of useful to have some fun with your readers. I used to have many blogs and now I'm developing a new one.

Good luck dude. I just realized we are kind of using the same theme.

Maybe this would work well for a home page so that whenever a visitor arrives they would always see different content :?:

I have tried to use http://www.lookilikey.com/?random for my website. Unfortunately this doesn't work. I am using WP 2.7. Does anybody have any ideas why?

    Thanks

    Sukhjit
