Why Comments Matter
Its nice to get comments when you make a post, gives you a sense that at least someone is reading what you write and after all isn’t that why you are writing.
Of course you know that you should respond to your comments, that’s just polite. But do you ever take it one step further?
What about using the comments section of your blog as a resource for your blog? Quite often the people who leave you a comment are bloggers too. So they may well have a good writing style - Guest Post Resource. They may have made a comment that inspired you to re-think an article you had written - Blog Post Inspiration. They maybe writing on a topic that compliments yours - Linkback Opportunity.
Blog comments are much more than just a pat on the back for a nice post. Go and take a look at all the comments you have acquired over the last few months and see what resources you can find.

That is an interesting thought. I do believe comments are important because, like you said at least you know someone is reading and you are not writing for nothing.
But looking at your comment section as a resource is interesting. I have not looked at it that way.
One could also encourage addition to the conversation from your readers a way to participate in the discussion, short of a guest post.

Your comments section can also be a nice way to sneak a few keywords you may not have thought of originally into a post, new or old. Just respond to a comment someone left, and throw in that keyword… that way you get the best of both worlds.
You don't have to change your original article, and you also get to add in keywords.

I think comments are important because they help you interact with other blogger by providing your opinions on various topics and also answering people's question. It is also important to have a gravatar when you comment so you can build up the memorability with the other users.

A dofollow link that promotes both sides is a small price to pay for a comment!

They matter because the show other visitors to your blog that other people like your content. People don't want to subscribe to a blog that doesn't have any comments on it. It's just reality.

Just found your blog today. Really like it - keep up the good work.Domain info more important than you think :-)Domain information such as DNS, age of domain and even the expiration date are used to distinguish between illegitimate and legitimate domains. Why are google doing this? Simply to get all the factors they can to get an internal "trust score".This "trust score" is used to eliminate "doorway" pages and spam in the search result.I'M not saying that it's working perfectly - but they are doing a pretty good job.
