Where do you get your inspiration?
Experienced bloggers will tell you that blogging on a regular basis takes discipline. Setting aside a particular time of day and a set amount of time is part of that discipline.
But another, more important part of the equation is inspiration. Everytime you sit down to write you have to have something to write about. Some people will just sit and stare at a blank screen and hope inspiration strikes them - lucky the few that it works for.
For the most part inspiration takes some inducing and that is where the tracking sites become very useful. You can setup Google Alerts, Yahoo pipes, Twitter alerts to show you the conversations that people are having around your blog topic. This is a great source of inspiration. Its more than that though, it ensures your blog stays fresh and relevant, after all who wants to read your predictions for the election now? Its over and done with so why are you still writing about it? Maybe because you just had to get those thoughts out and didnt have time before. But if your readers have moved on, you really should move with them. Use the tools that are out there, they are free, they deliver to your inbox and everyday you will have fresh inspiration to work from.

I'm starting to do blog posts driven from what is debated on my comments, if something is heated enough to be spoken of then why not blog it? just me trying to do something new i guess.

Most of the inspiration that I get is mostly from myself and my parents. I try to weed pretty much everyone else out of my life due to the fact that people seem to try to bring you down more than trying to uplift you.

I find that when I'm actively looking for writing inspiration, I never actually find it. Instead, I just read, read, read for the fun of it, and writing ideas pop into my mind as I'm keeping up to speed with the latest news, trends & info online.

I agree on Twitter and Google Alert. Sometimes it is boring to do the same work again and again. It is redirecting to something more interesting to get motivated or refreshed again to continue our work.

I get inspiration from email news letters, comments on my blog, TV news, forums etc.
Forums are excellent sources for deriving ideas… as a lot of open topics will be left unanswered there that you could try to answer via your post.
