Yup, you read that right. This video shows you how to charge an iPod with just an onion and electrolytes, which in this case is Gatorade. You might not have to charge your iPod like this in the future, but it’s just something cool to watch (and try).

I called my 15 year old son over to see if he wanted to watch it and he said he saw it already. So this is certainly making it’s way around the internet. The 15 year old and I don’t really run in the same social circles!

I doubt if it really works! But battery is basically made up of electrolytes so it could work, I don’t know. I am not sacrificing my favorite gadget with this experiment!
