Online music streaming service Pandora has announced that they’ve reached the magical 50 million members since it started just a few years ago.

According to latest reports, Pandora is set to generate $100 million in revenue this year — quite astonishing considering they nearly went bankrupt just over a year ago.

DazzBoard secures $1.5 million in funding

Finnish startup Linkotec, which makes the online-based music player DazzBoard — a sort of online rival to iTunes if anything — has announced that they’ve raised another $1.5 million in VC funding.

DazzBoard is a fully functioning media player ala iTunes but works only online and doesn’t have some of the constraints iTunes has. However, there still are constraints, for one, DazzBoard is only available on Windows where it requires a plugin to work (a Mac version is in development).

What Pork And Beans Can Teach You About Viral Marketing

Pork and Beans… and I’m not talking about it literally. What I am talking about is the new song by Weezer (the band behind “Beverly Hills” and “My Name Is Jonas”) called Pork and Beans. Anyway, what’s so special about the song? Well, if you haven’t seen it yet (and I doubt that you haven’t), all I want to say is that it’s one of the best music videos I have ever seen. This music video is a perfect example of how viral marketing is the best types of marketing on the internet. Weezer knows exactly how to go viral on YouTube… by referencing popular viral videos on YouTube. Does “Numanuma” sound familiar to you? What about “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” or “Leave Britney Alone”? The band incorporated some of these viral videos and some of their characters into their new song and video, which has made themselves go viral. But enough with the talk, go watch the video below and you’ll see why. If you have already seen it, watch it again!

By the way, if you want to see all the original videos that this song referenced to, check out this page. Gizmodo has done all the work for you by putting up all the videos on one page, so just sit back and watch!

Video: How to Remove Vocals from MP3 Songs

Using Audacity, a free audio editor application, you can remove vocals from MP3 songs. You can easily remove the vocals from songs to make your own MP3 instrumental. The creator of this tutorial is the same one that made the tutorial on how to hide files inside images that I have posted on my other blog at WebTech. So if you ever wanted to find an instrumental of a song but couldn’t find it, just remove the vocals by yourself from those MP3 songs!

Find eBooks (Or Anything) Online

I have already posted about this site called G2P that uses Google’s searches to locate files on open directories in the Web. This post is just to reemphasize the power of the site. To find eBooks (digital books) online, go to the G2P site, select the “eBook” bubble (or whatever it is you’re looking for) on the right sidebar, and search what you are looking for in the search box. You should find what you want in a matter of seconds.

So why should you look for eBooks? Well, if you ever thought of going to Barnes & Noble or your local library just to look for a book, consider trying to search for the eBook first if it’s available. Once you download it, it’s yours forever and can be opened on any computer.
