Layar, the argumented reality startup from Amsterdam, Holland, has announced that they’ve not only secured $3.4 million in funding, but also struck a deal with a major handset manufacturer to distribute their software.
Layar offers not only argumented reality apps, but also a platform and store where apps can be made and distributed using their platform.
According to an article at TimesOnline, Google is developing speech translation for Android, and not just any speech translation, but speech-to-speech translation — the best kind of translation, if you ask us.
However, Google is noted as saying that speech-to-speech will be possible in a year or two, and will only work “reasonably” in a few years time.
