The Sly Guy is Back!

Finally, after a long long wait, the Sly Guy is back!

For those of you that don’t know, the Sly Guy is the SlyVisions cartoon mascot. When I first introduced him, he was simpler and in 2D, created by a promotional tool by Burger King called Simpsonize Me. The results were good, but it was too simple. He needed more interactivity.

The Sly Guys

So for only under $100, I got the Sly Guy redesigned by a freelance designer. The first thing we worked on was adding some interactivity to the mascot. We kept the sunglasses because…well, it made him sly (no pun intended). Also, you will see that he is now holding a laptop (SlyVisions branded) with some cash coming out of the screen. Why is there cash coming out of it? Well, just think about the slogan of SlyVisions:

The Internet Through An Entrepreneur’s Eyes

Put together a guy with a suit and sunglusses, a laptop + cash to compliment it, and you get a perfectly interactive cartoon mascot.

So what do you guys think of the new Sly Guy? :P

By the way, I’d like to thank Jay for helping me getting the Sly Guy up at the header. After struggling on doing it myself, Jay had offered to help me out. The cartoon would still be behind the curtains right now if it wasn’t for Jay. Thanks man!

How I Got My Cartoon Character (The Sly Guy)

Ok. So a lot of people have been asking me how I got my cartoon character. For those of you that noticed, it resembles a Simpson character. That’s because it really is a Simpsonized version of me.

So how did I get it? Well, back when the Simpson Movie was released last year, Burger King had helped with the promotion of the movie by creating a promotional site called Simpsonize Me. When I had been watching TV one day, I had seen one of their commercials where they showed the link to the site. I visited it, checked out all the things you can do, and voila… The Sly Guy was created.

There you have it. If you’d like to Simpsonize yourself, go ahead and visit Simpsonize Me to…well, Simpsonize yourself. If you can, save the image on your desktop so you can post it up on the comments below. We’d love to see the Simpson version of you.
