Nothing New Under The Sun

I was surprised to see how many of the so-called top blogs are increasingly repeating each other. In a search that I did today, I came across the same story about the Federal Telecommunications Committee and their plans to monitor blogs on no less than 5 A list blogs.
While I agree this is an important story, it got me thinking and so I started to dig a little deeper only to find that there were a number of recent posts that all seem to be the same story re-written. While I freely acknowledge we all, from time to time, are moved by the same story or the same event and therefore post our take on it, it seems that perhaps the bigger bloggers are getting so caught up with their other enterprises that their blogs are starting to get less attention than they used to.
I think this is a real shame, after all, the blogs were what made them the names they were. I also think that when these blogs basically go on autopilot it makes a huge opportunity for others in that niche. That does of course mean that for you to take advantage of the opportunity you have to increase the quality of your content to make sure you stand out.
