Making Sense of Adsense

Having decided to have ads on your blog, the last thing you want them to do is drive readers away. One of the biggest turn-offs for readers is coming to a site only to be presented with ads that are completely non-relevant to their interests.
Lets think about this, if your blog is about pet care, then your readers don’t want ads for timeshares, or even car care. What they want is ads about pets, pet products, pet health.
When you set up your Adsense account you were able to specify this type of information, but did you realize that you can make the targetting even more specific from within your post?
Known as “Section” targetting it involves simply placing a couple of tags around the section that you want to emphasize to make sure your ads are even more targetted. There is no restriction on the number of sections that you tag.
To start the section tagging add the following tag <!-- google_ad_section_start -->, to close the section add this tag <!-- google_ad_section_end -->.
That’s all there is to it. Remember of course that it isn’t instant. Google suggests you allow up to two weeks before you will start to see results.
