Sunday: The Day Before It All Happens
Its Sunday morning here in Texas. For most people this is the beginning of the end of their weekend and they are already bracing themselves for tomorrow morning. In their minds they are already thinking about the commute to work, the email inbox, the things they didnt finish on Friday.
From my friends Facebook updates I can already see the statuses start to change as they comment on the fact that its Monday tomorrow. These are the same people who only 48 hours ago were saying TGIF! One of the advantages of working for yourself is that you are no longer constrained by the Monday - Friday thoughts. True you also can’t guarantee their will be a paycheck at the end of the week either, but given the current economic climate nor can anyone else.
The great thing about working from home or a small office is that you get to set the tone, you get to decide if Monday should be something you dread or something you celebrate. The wisest words about work I have ever heard are: Find something you love to do, do it, then find someone to pay you for it. For me that is writing, in all its forms, but it has taken many years of doing other things before I discovered that.
So if you think that blogging is where you want to be, and how you want to pay the bills, then my advice is do it and say goodbye to dreading Mondays.
