Slyvisions Moved To WordPress!
As you guys have noticed, I have made another change to the site. I have finally decided to let go of my old website platform, RapidWeaver. This site will now be run by WordPress, which clearly has a lot of advantages over other blog managers. Because of my transition to WordPress, all the previous comments have now been deleted. So I’ll really appreciate if you guys and gals can help me out by posting high-quality comments on this blog.
Other than a move to a new blog, I will also need a new to make a few more tweaks in terms of plugins and all that stuff. If you guys have any advice for me after what you see so far, go ahead and leave a comment or email me. By the way, I have incorporated the Top Commentators plugin, so start commenting!

good decision! Wordpress is excellent.
Sly:
Great job! Now you can fully enjoy the power of wordpress!
I like your color! Look more like a millionaire blog!
Keep it up! Have a great turkey holiday!
Congrats on the move Sly. It’s a shame that you had to lose all your comments, but it will be worth it in the long run.
Looks like you have this wordpress thing under control
If I were to make any suggestions, I would consider a tagcloud … and less plugins are better - in the long-run. With most of my sites, I think I’m pretty much under contol with about 25 plugins in all .. I just downgraded my PetLvr blog when I upgraded to 2.3 recently from 68 plugins to 28 plugins .. It’s not the plugins though - it’s all the redundant tables that are created in the MySQL database that keep adding to the automated backups.
Nice you fixed the links too !
sucks that all the posts were deleted. but i like wordpress so oh well
Great move Sly
I really like WordPress over other blogging software.
I am even slowly learning how to modify the php files enough to make my blogs a bit more unique. Now I just have to implement the changes I am making to my blogs.
It’s a lot of fun.
None of the comments could be brought over? That’s odd.
While it might not be very easy, there should be a way to get the RapidWeaver comments written to some kind of file that you can then import into the WordPress database. Heck, if you can get the comments into a text file with the post number (or name), date added, user and comment, then it would be a snap to script it and drop the data into WordPress
Either way, welcome to WordPress
Welcome to WordPress! I think you made a good decision. Problogger is running a poll right now regarding blog platforms and WordPress is leading!
No doubt, Worpress rules.
Sly, you definitely make a wise decision.
Sly,
But I noted that my avatar is not appearing besides my comment above. Are you using Gravatar, or any other plugin.
Wondering, what may be the reason?
Or I think you need to first login to MyBlogLog if you have already signed up
Good decision Sly! So many short and long term benefits of using Wordpress. It’s fairly easy to use too!
