Share Your Skills - Earn Money At The Same Time

A lot of bloggers think that the only way they can earn money from their blog is online. There are lots of strategies for increasing traffic, placement of ads, buying reviews etc. The list is seemingly endless. But how many are actually looking outside of the blogosphere to find ways to use their blogging skills to earn money?

As 2009 opens up and more and more people, companies and non-profits are becoming aware of the importance of a well maintained blog, more and more are realizing that there is more to it than just writing and posting.  The drawback for them is that they dont have the resources internally to manage the blog effectively.

Enter the experienced blogger. While you could just stop at writing a few posts for them and charging for those. Why not go the whole way and set up an agreement to actually manage the blog for them.  They do the writing part but you do the rest.  SEO, Ad placement, promotion and all the other things that you have already learned to do.  Most companies, especially in the Small & Medium space would willingly pay to have someone experienced have them handle this headache for them.

How would you go about it? Would you setup a business around this, and advertise the business? Or would you contact other businesses, explaining to them the importance of a blog, and what you can do for them.

Well this is sort of what I'm doing on most of my blogs, I hire bloggers to write on them, I do write on some of them sometimes but mostly my skills are in SEO, Ad placement, promotion, management, webdesign, business creation, admin. Also I'm trying to offer my services from this site as well.

That's an interesting angle. It could probably be relatively lucrative, because lots of small/medium sized businesses have no idea where to start to get a blog or site up & running. Similar to niche titans' question……finding the SMB that needs the help is the tough part of the equation.

Good point - take your online skills and sell them offline - (it might also be good to think about how your offline skills could be put to use online).
