Here is another way to send free text messages online. The other way, posted here, uses Google. Meanwhile, this alternative uses the AIM service using AIM or iChat. Here’s how to do it in 3 easy steps:
1. Make a new buddy. Under the account name, enter in the cellphone number you want to send a message to starting with +1. So for example, if the number is xxx-xxx-xxxx, you would put +1xxxxxxxxxx (without hyphens).
2. Enter your message in the message box.
3. Click Send. Message sent. Done.
