Promoting Your Blog By Direct Email Marketing

Email marketing, emailBloggers and webmasters these days are always looking for ways to promote their site. There are a lot of ways to this: optimizing your site for good SEO, buying text links from other sites, participating in blog communities, etc. What most bloggers forget is that it is still possible to promote a website successfully the old fashioned way. And that’s by direct email marketing.

Mark from 45n5 has recently posted up a video of himself showing us a little secret on email promotion. In the video, he shows us how he has emailed 28 of the top bloggers in the blogosphere, and got a reply from 11 of them. Before you watch the video below, here are the the three main tips for promoting your site by emailing bloggers.

  1. Promote your best content. Remember, first impressions are everything. If the blogger sees how great your posts are, there is a better chance that they will actually take time and check out the rest of your blog…
  2. Don’t ask for anything. By this, that means that you should not (and never) try to ask for a link. Your goal is to promote yourself and let others know about you.
  3. Limit your emails. Email a blogger too much and they will start to dislike you. Mark says that the maximum times you should email someone is 2 times a month. I think that 1 is good enough though.

It's worth the time. If you make an excellent resource list, tool or something of that nature and email the top bloggers, there's a good chance that you'll get some links. It's a great way to get a new blog out of the sandbox or revitalize and old one.

I'm definitely going to put this one into practice

Good thing found at your blog about email marketing! Welldone! You have placed a good information on your blog. But, I want to talk something more about email marketing. Actually, it is not too easy as it seems. Most of the people are under misconception that collecting email IDs and using a bulk email sender can make you successful. But it is not. What do you think? Actually, most of the businesses these days are not selling one product. They are selling different products for diff. niches and for the different markets. So, in this case they should have the different lists of bulk email IDs. Email Marketing is being difficult in these days. But still experiments are being done by a lot of people and companies. I usually keep on trying the products of the different companies. Now a days, some wonderful products are coming in the market that can give you great earning opportunities. I do not want my comment considered as spam here so will not discuss about my blog, but if you visit my blog then you will find, how I am using different products for my email marketing these days and making a lot Really! When I found your blog about email marketing, It was great one and I could not stop myself writing comment? But, last thing, I want to ask, Do you offer newsletter to your visitors or not? Do you know any kind of program to make effective newsletter? Waiting for reply - Thanks - Regards
