Every new blogger would do anything to get more traffic for their blog. They would tell friends and families to take a visit, join forums for more exposure, email other bloggers, or leave comments on other blogs. All of these are true and effective ways to get more traffic, so don’t get me wrong. But there is a site, called BlogExplosion, that promises bloggers to explode their blog traffic. For some, this service is perfect for increasing traffic. To me, it’s a big waste of time when it comes to blogging. Don’t get me wrong here, BlogExplosion is a good way to get traffic. But is it the kind of traffic you want and need?

First of all, if you don’t know what BlogExplosion is, let me explain. The system works by giving bloggers “credits” which in term converts into a visitor for your blog. It’s on a 1:1 ratio, so if you have 3 credits, you’ll get 3 visitors. Here’s the thing. To get those credits you need to “surf” on a website that BlogExplosion has taken you to for 30 seconds. After that time you will then need to click on a number that works like Captcha to prove that you have stayed there for 30 seconds. You’ll then be taken to another blog for you to wait for another 30 seconds. Sounds like a good way to get traffic? Well, let me tell you this. The visitors you have just earned are doing the same thing: they are “surfing” your website in order to get their own credits. By now you probably know why it’s a big waste of time.

Does It Give the Right Type of Traffic?

If you have used BlogExplosion before you will know what I mean when I ask you about it giving the “right type of traffic”. Think about it. You get visitors for your blog in return for your credits right? But if you were surfing other sites just to get your credits, don’t you think that other surfers are doing the same thing? They probably have not even laid their eyes on your blog. If you’re lucky, a surfer might actually care to surf on your blog and take their time checking it out.

Other Decent Ways To Use BlogExplosion

BlogExplosion does have some positive things about it. First is its referral program. Referring someone else to join BlogExplosion helps you get a portion (5%-10%) of the traffic they get in the future. So even if you don’t plan to use your time “surfing” other blogs just to get credits, you can refer other people for automatic credits.

Another feature I like is the Battle of the Blogs. If you think your blog has what it takes to compete another blog in a blog battle you can easily earn yourself 25-200 credits depending on how much you wager. Since the minimum wager is 25, winning a blog battle gives you 25 new visitors for your blog. What I like about Battle of the Blogs is that users actually vote for which blog they think is better. That means that they spend more time on it and actually check out what you have on your blog.

In Conclusion, Should You Use BlogExplosion?

Again, don’t get me wrong about this nice little program. I use it ocassionally and you should too. The only thing I’m telling you is to not spend all of your time trying to earn credits just so you can get fake visitors. Writing great articles is the best thing you can do to get more traffic. If you don’t know what else to do because you have nothing to blog about, there are more than plenty of things you can do.
