The Top 7 ways to make money on the Internet - would you read that? I would, and if I found it useful I would be sure to share it with my network.
While you might want to write great pieces of prose about the state of the nation, or why the world is the way it is. While these will attract some readers, if you want to get your message to a wider audience then make sure to mix these up with useful How To’s and Lists to increase the number of people who get to read those pieces.

Hey Guys nice Article Simon, I agree this is a great way to get traffic. On my site we have only done a few but yes they are very popular. We did a article on Mobilewhack.com called Top Ten Iphone Competitors it has been our 4th most popular ever article receiving over 84,400 unquie visitors in 2008 ( http://www.mobilewhack.com/top-ten-list-of-iphone... and yes it needs a update.

Yup lists are great because we're in the age where people want quick and succinct tips about everything in their life: how to lose weight, how to improve their seo, how to change their oil, etc.
I just did two on page SEO tips on my blog recently.
