A lot of people have asked me how to download videos from YouTube. Well, here are some applications, based on what OS and browser you are using, that will help you download videos from YouTube very easily.
Update: You can now use Zamzar to download videos from any video sites like YouTube, Google Video, MetCafe, iFilm, etc.
PC- Firefox
VideoDownloader. Sow what exactly is this? It’s just a simple Firefox plugin-in that allows you to easily download the video that is currently on your webpage. After installing the add-on, there will be a little toolbar at the bottom of the Firefox browser. Click on that (BUT MAKE SURE THE VIDEO FULLY LOADS FIRST), and a pop-up shows up prompting you to click on the download image. Then add “.flv” at the end of the downloaded file name. Finally, open the file with FLV Player for PC. The download link is the third one titled…well, FLV Player.
PC- Any Browser
KeepVid- Same exact setup as VideoDownloader, except that you don’t need Firefox and the plug-in. Instead, you copy the link of the site that has the video you want to download, and just paste it to the textbox input at the top of the KeepVid site.
Mac- Any Browser
You can use either options (VideoDownloader or KeepVid) depending on what browser you are using. The only difference is that you are using a different FLV Player made for Macs. The download link is located at the very bottom of the page.
