So it’s all over the blogosphere now that Google’s PR update has just already been underway. There have been a lot of sites and blogs with increased PR’s, and even some that had it demoted got it back. But I still don’t see any changes here on SlyVisions dot Com. So Google, what do you want me to do?
It seems like I will never get my PR 3 (or higher) back. I really do not want to waste my time talking about this since it’s useless, but the fact that Google hasn’t given me my PR is total BS. I have already stopped selling text links and removed all my “review SlyVisions for a backlink” posts, but what else am I missing? There are hundreds of other bloggers out there that are doing things that should get them penalized, but they’re not!
I hope Matt Cutts can tell me exactly what’s going on here. Emailing Google about a reconsideration from the Webmaster Tools did not seem to work. All I really want is an answer, and I hope to get one soon.

All I can figure is that either some jerks are going around reporting as many sites as they can for paid links and Google engineers aren’t taking enough time away from their in-office Wii games to actually check on them or that some algorithm has gone astray and is marking any blog that uses ‘review’ just about anywhere as a link seller.
What I’ve found weird is that I have several posts and one page with PR3 while my homepage is still PR0. This seems to indicate some sort of penalty is in force.

I have the same problem. I hate it

same here sly.. my PR is not revived. i still see a lot of people selling links, a lot of blogs with huge PPP banners in their blogs but they are not penalized. We are the chosen ones! too unlucky!

Same with me. No PR when all the others who are breaking the rules aren’t penalized.

I do see a lot of PPP users not penalized, which is weird.

Google dinged me from a PR4 to a PR0 some time ago and I thought I would throw up when I say. Good thing I didn’t have my coffee yet or I just might have.
I eventually got as high as a PR3 again but can’t seem to pass that.
I did notice the current Page Rank update didn’t make a single change but I did notice that my number of links went from around 30 to 80.
I will keep posting and linking and perhaps by the next PR round I will see a PR increase.
Good luck with Google.

You are not alone. My PR recently just drop from PR4 back to PR0. It’s basically dead in the PR world.
I think Google is changing the way people think about PR. I bet that Google will eventually drop PR to their trash can.

wow… the same thing happened to my blog.. I was at a PR4 excited to be that high in the page ranking system then all of a sudden I checked my PR 2 days ago and I thought my browser PR tool bar was messed up so I reinstalled it to see if that was the problem.. well it wasn’t.. now my page is back down to a ZERO…

Yes PR is important to a lot of SEO people but you also have to realize that doesn’t define your traffic or readers. Just because your PR got taken away just like mine and I even have a new blog that has not gotten ranked the last 2 times and I don’t even do any sponsored posts on it which is still sitting at zero they both have traffic coming in to it so that’s all that matters.

don’t mind it. Pagerank is useless

Julia is right, PR is pretty much useless, unless you are doing many, many things, like advertising and paid reviews and things that require a certain PR.

I still haven´t figured out whether I find PR that important or not. Isn´t blogging about getting in touch with others, learning from others and sharing your experiences? Shouldn´t the readers be first in line, and ratings last?

I think I am caught in this loop as well. I am selling text links, but how would they know I am doing this? PR is so much more important than it should be… and I frankly find it rediculous
