Get Spontaneous–Throw Out The Blog Schedule
I know I just posted a piece on how important it was to be scheduled, so this post will no doubt come as a shock to many. But there’s a reason behind it, especially if you’re having a tough time getting your posts around.
There are times when you find something interesting in the course of your normal hunt for information that just needs to be written up. It’s never a good idea to ignore that feeling, or put it off, because it’s not on the schedule. You’ve got to take advantage of those all too rare “flashes of genius” that will enable you to put out some really amazing posts.
Creativity cannot be scheduled. Sometimes you’ve got to be flexible enough to take hold of those flashes of insight. Not only are they so rare as to be a prudent move to take advantage of them, they’re also the things that reflect your passion at the time. If you blog where your passion is, you’ll blog better, blog faster, and of course, keep that all-valuable reader attention.
A schedule is an important thing, but sometimes, you’ve got to shake the apple tree just a bit or otherwise, you’ll just be gathering the low-hanging fruit and letting some really sweet pieces rot on the vine.
