eCommerce For Your Blog

We have talked about selling products from your blog before, and one of the recommendations was to use a third party product that you like and have them handle the transactions. The downside of this of course is that you will only get a small percentage of the actual sale price and what happens if the product you want to sell is something that you created.

Usually adding an ecommerce cart to a website involves a lot of integration work, both with your website and with the payment gateways (bank, paypal etc.).

One advantage of a blog over a regular website, especially a blog in a Wordpress format is that you not only get an extremely robut Content Management System but you also get a huge selection of plugins.  Yes you guessed it the ecommerce solution for blogs is a plugin.

Called, rather unsurprisingly, WP eCommerce this plugin gives you full shopping cart functionality. It provides the ability to add new products as you develop or release them, promotion tools, even integration to Facebook’s Marketplace.

If you want to sell products on your blog, you should definitely check out this plugin.

Thank you for putting the project together. It’s great to know you are approachable! I’m sure myself or some of the readers will have some questions. But overall it’s a very intuitive plugin, which makes it easy to use for everyone. Keep up the great work on it!

You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your blog.
