Does Perfection Haunt You?
Proofreading we call it, but sometimes is it really, or is it in fact just a way of delaying hitting that publish button? Are we holding back or being held back by what we think people’s reactions will be?
How many times can you re-read a post, edit, change, massage and manipulate. Like a lot of creatives, bloggers are usually their own biggest critics and sometimes that tendency gets in the way of publishing anything.
Sometimes you have to just say, as Wellington did, “publish and be damned”. Remembering that your readers are much more likely to see the worth in your words than you do. After all you have seen them in your head, you have seen them in your drafts, your rewrites, your edits and then in final version. Your readers only see one version so they have not tired of them as you have.
What holds you back from publishing?

Yep, I do that either. Can't help it, I just need to check everything twice

Personally I'll write it out, check it and post it up. Then in a couple of hours I'll do another check as my perspective might have changed from then. The worst thing that can happen is you get an awful response and you delete the post and start again. Don't worry, guys
