VM6 raises $4 million

Virtualization is very popular these days, and several VR startups have raised capital over the past few months, including VM6, which announced that they’ve raised $4 million from RBC Venture Partners and Ignition Partners. VM6 was founded earlier this year and makes virtualization infrastructure software.

Windows 7 Sells over 90 Million Copies

Microsoft’s Windows 7 has now become the company’s fastest selling OS after revealing that they have sold over 90 million copies of the latest Microsoft OS. Originally launched in October of 2009, it is apparent that many consumers were eager to upgrade their old operating systems. Microsoft Ties Up with Panasonic for Intellectual Property Licensing Agreement

Microsoft and Panasonic have entered into an Intellectual Property Licensing Agreement which will provide the latter access to Microsoft’s Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) technology. Panasonic becomes the latest company to adopt the said technology, something that should enable them to deliver a rich, integrated media experience for its customers.

exFAT technology delivers a significant leap forward in terms of the size of files that can be stored on a broad range of consumer electronic devices, and the speed with which they can be accessed. In addition to the license on Microsoft’s exFAT technology, Panasonic has obtained a patent license that covers FAT32 long file name technology in its products.

Windows 7 reaches 10% market share

Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system has been acclaimed by the company as the fastest selling Windows OS ever, and now, it has reached a 10% market share in the OS world, at least according to Microsoft.

However, Windows Vista still holds about 20%, while XP is still at the top, with somewhere between 60 and 70% of the Windows OS market share.
