Calling For Backup
Backup is one of those things that we all know we should do but how many of us do it as often as we should? You most likely have a scheduled back up tool for your computer. Or maybe an external drive or maybe you burn CD’s or DVD’s with backups.
Do you apply the same thought to your blog?
Now of course its not as likely that the server that your blog is on is going to suffer a catastrophic failure in the same way as your personal computer might, but, servers do fail and whilst reputable hosting companies back up your data on a regular basis are you sure you want to leave it to someone else to protect your blog posts?
Most blogging software allows for data export, but for the most part this is only used when the blog is being transferred from one platform to another. However, there is no reason why you can’t export your entire blog as a method of data backup. Then utilize the same storage methods that you use for the rest of your valuable data. After all, with the investment you have made to build your blog in time alone, isn’t it worth protecting?

I try to backup my sites entries once a week, instead of using wordpress backup becuase it is limited i use phpadmin to backup, different parts of the sites the most like comments tags and entries.

Unfortunately, as much as I mean to back up my sites, I seem to forget far too often. I always mean to do it more but it just gets pushed to hte back of your mind.

Sadly, most of us don't start to consistently back up data until we've learned the lesson the hard way!
