For those that have finally gotten an iPhone or iPod Touch, here’s a little guide for you to help you hack (Jailbreak) it. By jailbreaking your iPhone/iPod Touch, you will be able to install 3rd party software that will increase your productivity and add more fun to it (watch a video here to see an example of what you can do). I have watched video tutorials all over YouTube and read forums on how to Jailbreak, but they are not as easy compared to what I’m going to show you. By the way, I am not responsible for anything (bad) that happens to your iPhone/iPod Touch. Anyway, let’s move on.
Step 1: Downgrade To Version 1.1.1
The first thing you’ll need to do is to make sure that the current version of your iPhone/iPod is on 1.1.1. As of to date, the the automatic jailbreaker is only compatible with this version. If you are on version 1.1.2, which chances are that it is, you will need to downgrade.
1) Download the 1.1.1 restore file from Apple.
2) After you download the file (on Mac or PC), move on to downgrading. With your iPhone/iPod connected, view the Summary tab of the device. Hold down the Shift (PC) or Option (Mac) key then click Restore.

3) A window will pop up . Select the file you downloaded then select Open. Your device will then downgrade back to 1.1.1. After a few seconds, it should restart and appear back on iTunes. Now time to Jailbreak.
Step 2: Jailbreak
1) While connected to the internet, open Safari on your device. Visit the site http://jailbreakme.com. Scroll down and select Install AppSnapp.
Note that this link will only show if you are using an iPhone or iPod Touch.

2) AppSnapp will then install an application on your device called Installer. This is the core menu in which you will install the 3rd party software.
Step 3: Install Those 3rd Party Apps!
After installing, your device will reboot. That’s it! If you see Installer, then you’re ready to install other apps. Click that and you will see all the types of things you can install on your device: from games and eBooks to new themes and tweaks. Remember, all this is done automatically. All you need is an internet connection!

I love my iPhone, and I did have it jailbroken with version 1.1.1 and miss all of the cool additions. I have upgraded to 1.1.3, and wish there was a simple solution to unlock this version. These are good tips. Thanks for the info.

Dear Sirs,
I am Thomas Garcia , I am new to this forum. I wasn’t sure where to make this post, and my apologies, if I posted inappropriately,
please advise.
Few months ago, I stumbled upon information about
investment funds, that are rarely published on
official investment resources. The earnings, which participants could
receive by participating in such private clubs, seemed
shockingly high at
first, but as I learned more about them, I made my
choice. Guess what, today, I consider
myself as the successful
player. To take my online adventures on the next level, I
made available the blog, which
outlines detailed information
about selected programs. If you would like to see my
blog, follow this URL.
I would appreciate
everyone’s feedbacks.

I own an unlocked iPhone and I was told not to update anything before it gets locked.
Now there is this “Installer Update” that keeps reminding me that installer update is available. Should I update or should I not?
I’m also not too sure if ‘Installer’ is the same as ‘JailBreak’. Are they?
